Antique Enamel, Seed Pearl & Diamond Mourning Locket Pendant
A superb piece of history, mourning jewellery may not be everyone's cup of tea but there is no doubt that the provenance is very interesting.
This particular piece is a superb example, with stunning blue enamel and a pretty pattern of Seed Pearls and a Diamond. The inside hides a lock of hair and engravings that state the following:
"My dear Sister Mrs Elizabeth Ann Bowyer died 31st Dec 1856 in the 68th Year of her Age."
"Also her beloved Husband, died March 3rd 1861 in his 68th Year."
The pendant also happens to come with its original box from Vaughtons Ltd. "Goldsmiths & Silversmiths BIRMINGHAM"
